I rebuild engineering disasters so you can cause them yourself.

One failure per episode. The real mechanism as running code, the bug you can trigger, the fix, and the test that proves it. Everything open source, every claim sourced.

A 16-bit integer destroyed a rocket.

Ariane 5 reused guidance code from Ariane 4. One value, the horizontal bias, was converted from a 64-bit float into a 16-bit integer with no range check. Ariane 4 never flew fast enough to overflow it. Ariane 5 did, 37 seconds after launch.

Coming next: Show Me Why

The code is the explanation.

School science and maths with the source code left in. Change gravity in the code and watch why 45° wins. Made for students who want the “why”, not just the formula.
